Pacific Logging Congress - Important details of the 103rd Annual Meeting

The 103rd annual meeting of the Pacific Logging Congress will be headquartered at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, in 'sunny' Tucson, Arizona. The resort is nestled in the Catalina  Mountain foothills on 93 acres of ancient Sonoran desert.

Mark your calendar for November 7, 8, 9 & 10th 2012!

Highlights include:
  • Welcome Reception
  • Guided motor coach tour of Freeport McMoran - Sierrita open pit copper mine.
  • Spend an afternoon in Caterpillar's Sandbox - Caterpillar hosting interactive sessions at Tinaja Hills Demonstration and Training Centre - You will be able to operate the Cat line of excavators, tractors, wheel loaders, or do a "ride and drive" in the new Cat vocational truck or perhaps a mine truck.  
  • President's reception dinner and auction

Art Contest for Kids 2012 - Enter today!

We are once again pleased to ask the Children of BC to Celebrate National Forest Week (September 23-29, 2012) with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP), as well as the Truck Loggers Association (TLA), by drawing pictures of what the forests in their communities, mean to them!

There will be 3 winners, one from each age group; 4-5, 6-8 & 9-12.  Winners will receive a $50 gift card to Chapters and will also have their artwork published in the magazines of both the Association of BC Forest Professionals & the Truck Loggers Association as well as posted on their websites!

Artwork must be submitted to the ABCFP office no later than October 19th, 2012 to be eligible for contest entry.  Essays must be sent by mail to the Association of BC Forest Professionals:

Parents can submit their own children's artwork, and teachers can enter the work of the whole classroom.
Winners will be announced in mid-November
